How to apply properly

Apply the proper amount of the drug

Apply the proper amount of the drug one to several times a day, referring to below (Approximate amount to apply).

In application of topical steroids, FTU (finger tip unit) is used.
For ointments and creams, 1 FTU is the amount from the end of the index finger to the first crease in the finger of an adult, and it is about 0.5 g.^* (This assumes the tube has about a 5 mm nozzle).
A 0.5 g dollop of lotion is appropriate to apply to an area twice the size of the palm of an adult’s hand.
This amount is called 1 FTU, and this is enough to treat an area twice the size of the flat of an adult’s hand with the fingers together (about 2% of the body surface area).

※For ointment/lotion, this may differ depending on the size of the tube.

Apply gently

Put the drug on the affected area and spread it over the area gently until it shines. When the proper amount is applied, the surface of the area gets slightly sticky and a tissue paper sticks to the skin.

Do not rub it strongly.

How to apply to a small area

Put a small amount of the drug on your fingertip and place it on the affected area. Then, spread it gently to cover the affected area until the skin slightly shines. You do not have to rub it strongly.

How to apply lotion properly

Because the lotion in the container may be contaminated, and it may worsen the inflammation
If directly applied, dandruff or sebum may adhere to the nozzle, and the contained bacteria may contaminate the drug.

Dandruff or sebum (keratinized material) may adhere to and clog the nozzle and the lotion may not come out.

The scalp cannot be checked visually, and an appropriate amount cannot be secured if directly applied from the container.
Generally, an excess amount tends to be applied, but it is important to use an appropriate amount of topical steroids.

Do not put it in your eyes

Do not apply it around your eyes for a long period because it may increase your eye pressure.

How to apply and precautions for application

With clean hands

Wash your hands with soap and running water and dry them with a clean towel, etc. Put the topical drug on a clean hand, place it on the affected area, and spread it gently, not rubbing.

To clean skin

The drug does not show full effect on dirty skin. To apply to clean skin after taking a bath is the best.
However, to reduce irritation to the skin, apply it after your body is cooled. Remove the water on the affected area by gently pressing down with tissue paper, etc. Do not rub the area.
When you apply it to the scalp, do not dry the scalp completely with a hair dryer, but remove the water with a towel. Because it is spread and absorbed well when the scalp is still moist.

Do not touch the nozzle of the tube or the container

To not contaminate the drug in the tube or container, do not apply the drug directly from the nozzle of the tube or the container to the affected area, but put the drug on a well-washed clean finger and then apply it. Pay attention not to touch the nozzle with your finger.

If your symptoms do not get better or get worse after 5 or 6 days of use, stop using it and consult a doctor, pharmacist, or registered seller.
